Shubh Muhurat — the moment when time itself supports you.
A generic muhurat from a panchang is good. A muhurat chosen specifically for your kundali is transformative. We calculate auspicious timings aligned with your moon, lagna, the day's panchanga, the planetary lord of the chosen hora, and the absence of inauspicious yogas — with three options to choose from.
What is a Shubh Muhurat?
It is the exact moment when planetary forces align in support of what you are about to begin.
In Vedic thought, time is not uniform. There are moments when the universe leans toward your intentions — when seeds planted then take root easily, when journeys begun then unfold smoothly. And there are moments when even the best plans face friction, when effort doubles for half the result. The choice of muhurat is the choice between these two streams of time.
A muhurat is technically a 48-minute window — derived from the word "muhu" meaning instant. The Vedic day contains 30 such windows, each with its own quality. But selecting an auspicious muhurat is more than picking a slot from a chart. It is the harmonisation of five panchanga elements — tithi (lunar day), vara (weekday), nakshatra (lunar mansion), yoga, and karana — combined with the planetary hour (hora), choghadiya quality, and most critically, alignment with your own kundali.
A generic muhurat from a printed panchang shows the auspicious times for the average person. A personalised muhurat is calibrated to your moon sign, your lagna, your current dasha, and the planetary karaka of the event. A marriage muhurat checks Jupiter and Venus for both bride and groom. A business muhurat checks Mercury and the 10th lord. A vehicle muhurat checks Mars and Venus. These distinctions matter.
What we deliver is not a date. It is a certified muhurat report — the exact date, time window, the panchanga conditions of that moment, the choghadiya quality, the reasoning behind why this window is favourable for you, and three alternative options in case the first does not suit your logistics.
The Panchanga — five-fold analysis
Every muhurat we select is examined against these five Vedic time-elements. All five must be auspicious for the moment to qualify as truly shubh.
Tithi
The lunar day — fifteen in each waxing and waning cycle. Each tithi has its own deity and quality.
Vara
The weekday ruled by one of seven grahas. Each event has its preferred weekday — Monday for water, Friday for love.
Nakshatra
The lunar mansion — one of twenty-seven star clusters. Each event has nakshatras that support or oppose it.
Yoga
Sun-moon angular relationship — twenty-seven yogas of which some are highly auspicious, some best avoided.
Karana
Half of a tithi — eleven karanas in all. Four are fixed (sthira), seven are moving (chara) — affects event stability.
Every life event, the right moment
From the smallest ceremony to the largest commitment — each event has its own muhurat logic, its own planetary karakas, and its own optimal nakshatra window.
Vivah Muhurat
Marriage ceremony — the most carefully selected muhurat in Vedic tradition. Checked against bride's and groom's kundalis, Tara Bal, Chandra Bal, Guru Bal, and Jupiter-Venus dignity.
Griha Pravesh
Housewarming — for entering a new home or returning after long renovation. Construction stage, the 4th house in your chart, and avoidance of Sutaki are checked.
Vahan Muhurat
Purchase of car, two-wheeler or commercial vehicle. Mars (vahan karaka), Venus and Mercury are checked along with the auspicious choghadiya of that day.
Namkaran
Naming ceremony of a newborn — traditionally on day 11 or 12 after birth. The first syllable is chosen from the child's birth nakshatra pada.
Mundan Muhurat
First haircut ceremony — traditionally in the first or third year of life. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are most favoured. Child's kundali is the basis.
Business Start
Launching a new venture, opening a shop, signing partnerships — aligned with the 2nd house karaka, 10th lord, and Mercury's dignity. Akshaya Tritiya is especially favoured.
Bhumi Pujan
Foundation laying for new construction — 4th house, Mars and Saturn are key. Avoidance of Bhadra and certain prohibited nakshatras is essential.
Annaprashan
Child's first solid food — traditionally in the 6th, 8th or 10th month. Jupiter and Moon strength on the day are evaluated for the child's chart.
Property & Gold
Major purchases — property registration, gold-jewellery acquisition, large financial transactions. Pushya nakshatra is especially favoured for gold.
Inauspicious windows we never select
A good muhurat is as much about what is avoided as what is chosen. These periods are excluded from every recommendation we make.
Rahu Kaal
The daily 90-minute Rahu period — different for each weekday. Universally avoided for new beginnings and important commitments.
Bhadra
A half-tithi ruled by Vishti karana — strongly inauspicious for marriage, journey, and almost all auspicious work. Direction-specific exceptions exist.
Panchak
Five-day windows when Moon transits Aquarius and Pisces — avoided for cremation, construction (south wall), and certain wedding rituals.
Gulika & Yamaganda
Daily inauspicious periods ruled by Saturn's son and Yama. Specific weekday timings — avoided for new ventures and travel.
Pitru Paksha
The fortnight of ancestor remembrance — traditionally avoided for marriage, griha pravesh, new vehicle, and major purchases.
Sutaki & Patak
Periods of birth (sutaki) and death (patak) in the immediate family — temporary suspension of auspicious ceremonies for the prescribed duration.
Eclipse Windows
Days of solar and lunar eclipse — and the surrounding sutak period. Spiritually intense but inauspicious for material initiations.
Specific Nakshatras
For each event, certain nakshatras are traditionally inauspicious — Bharani for marriage, Ashlesha for vahan, Mula for the first ten years' construction.
Tara Dosha
The day's nakshatra in unfavourable Tara count from your janma nakshatra — Vipat, Pratyari, and Naidhana tara are avoided.

About muhurat selection
For weddings, ideally three to six months in advance — this gives time to choose from the strongest available muhurats and align them with family logistics. For griha pravesh, two to three months is comfortable. For urgent events (vahan purchase, business signing, urgent travel), we can deliver a muhurat within 24 to 48 hours of your request.
Because perfect muhurat windows are rare, and your logistics matter too. A muhurat at 3:47 AM is technically excellent but practically difficult. By giving three options of comparable strength, you can choose what works for the venue, family, and other constraints — without losing astrological auspiciousness.
To a degree. A muhurat aligned with both kundalis and supported by favourable transits can soften certain compatibility weaknesses — but it cannot reverse fundamental dosha issues. We recommend completing Kundali Milan first; if the match is workable, a strong muhurat strengthens it further.
We will tell you honestly. If the date has no auspicious window, we will explain why and suggest the closest favourable alternative. We never invent a muhurat to please a client — that defeats the entire purpose of the exercise.
Yes. A wedding muhurat must align with both kundalis — Tara Bal, Chandra Bal and Guru Bal are checked for both partners. Using only one chart misses half the picture.
Yes. The muhurat is calculated for the event location, not the birthplace. So if you were born in Patna and the wedding is in Bengaluru, we use Bengaluru's coordinates for the panchanga and sunrise calculations.
The right moment changes everything.
Whether it is a marriage, a new home, a business launch or a child's first ceremony — let the moment you begin be the moment the heavens lean toward you. Tell us the event. We will find the time.
