CHECKED
An important note before you book a date
The dates below are generally auspicious based on the panchanga — tithi, nakshatra, day, yoga and karana. However, a truly powerful vivah muhurat must also be checked against the kundalis of both the bride and groom — Tara Bal, Chandra Bal, Guru Bal, and Sade Sati status are essential. We strongly recommend taking a personalised muhurat consultation for the final wedding date, especially when both kundalis can be aligned with the chosen window.

Why these specific dates?
A Vivah muhurat is not chosen casually. Five panchanga elements and several supporting factors must all align for a date to qualify as truly auspicious.
The Vedic system has identified specific nakshatras, tithis and weekdays as inherently suitable for the sacred bond of marriage. These selections are not arbitrary — they reflect centuries of observation about which planetary configurations create lasting unions and which create friction.
The Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Moola, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati nakshatras are traditionally considered favourable for vivah. Most of the dates listed above fall on one of these. The Pushya nakshatra is excellent for everything except marriage.
Equally important is the avoidance of inauspicious periods. Marriages are not performed during Holashtak (8 days before Holi), Chaturmas (4-month divine repose July–November), or Kharmas (Sun in Sagittarius and Pisces). These exclusions explain the long gaps in our calendar.
Finally, even on these auspicious days, the specific time window (lagna) must be checked. The wedding ceremony itself begins at a particular muhurat within the day — not the entire day is equally auspicious. For this granular timing, a personalised consultation is essential.

Inauspicious windows excluded in 2026
These traditional periods do not appear in our muhurat list — they are universally avoided for Hindu marriages.
Chaturmas
Four-month period from Devshayani Ekadashi (July) to Devuthani Ekadashi (November). Vishnu is in cosmic repose — no marriages permitted.
Holashtak
Eight days before Holi (typically mid-March). Inauspicious for marriage, griha pravesh, mundan and other sanskars.
Kharmas
When the Sun transits Sagittarius (mid-Dec to mid-Jan) and Pisces (mid-March to mid-April). Marriages strictly avoided.
Pitru Paksha
The 15-day fortnight (Sept–Oct) dedicated to ancestor remembrance. No marriages performed during this period.
Shradh Days
Any day on which a death anniversary in the immediate family falls — the marriage is rescheduled to a different date.
Adhik Maas
The intercalary 13th lunar month that occurs every 2-3 years. All auspicious ceremonies including marriage are paused during this month.
Want a muhurat matched to your kundali?
The dates above are auspicious by general panchanga standards. But the strongest vivah muhurat is one that also aligns with both the bride's and groom's kundalis — checking Tara Bal, Chandra Bal, Guru Bal, Sade Sati status, and the timing of dasha activations. We do this personally for every couple who books with us.
- Aligned to both kundalis
- Tara, Chandra, Guru Bal verified
- Three muhurat options provided
- Written muhurat certificate
- 24–48 hour delivery
About Vivah Muhurat 2026
The dates above are auspicious by general standards, but for the actual wedding date, we strongly recommend a personalised muhurat check. Both kundalis must agree with the date — Tara Bal, Chandra Bal and Guru Bal must be favourable for both bride and groom. A "good" date for the panchanga may not be good for a specific couple's charts.
That period falls under Chaturmas — the four-month period from Devshayani Ekadashi to Devuthani Ekadashi when Lord Vishnu is in cosmic repose. According to scripture, auspicious life events including marriage are not performed during Chaturmas. This is observed across most Hindu traditions.
These are dates where multiple favourable factors align simultaneously — for example, an auspicious tithi falling on a favourable nakshatra with a benefic planetary day, or special yogas like Sarvartha Siddhi, Triple Pushkar, or Buddha-Rohini coinciding. These are the strongest dates of the year for general selection.
Yes, very. The auspicious window within a date is called the lagna muhurat — typically a 1 to 2 hour window. The specific moment the bride and groom take their vows must fall within this window. This level of timing requires the personalised muhurat service, as it depends on the kundalis.
It may still be possible — some dates may be acceptable for specific kundali combinations even when not generally auspicious. Send us your details and the date you have in mind, and we will tell you honestly whether it can be made to work with proper muhurat selection.
The dates above follow the mainstream Hindu Vedic tradition. Some communities — South Indian, Bengali, Marwari, Gujarati, and others — follow specific regional panchang variations and may have slightly different inclusions or exclusions. Tell us your community and we will adjust accordingly.
Your wedding day. Chosen with care.
The dates above are the year's strongest by general standards. The strongest for your wedding — that needs both kundalis on the table. We are here when you are ready.
